건축에 의한 기후행동

지속가능한 디자인을 위한 동양적 방법

▶소개

건축환경은 전세계적으로 탄소배출량 및 에너지소비량의 40%에 대한 책임이 있다. 다른 분야와 비교하면 이러한 배출 및 소비량을 줄이는 기회가 더 많을 수 있으며 더 많은 효과를 볼 수 있기도 하다. 곧 작은 변화가 잠재적으로 아주 큰 기여를 할 수 있다. 그러나 현재에는 대부분의 친환경 또는 지속가능성에 대한 노력이 전체적인 노력보다는 부분에 치우친 기술적인 면들만 부각되어온 것이 사실이다. 이러한 사회적 문제에 대해서 올해 sa2009 국제디자인공모전은 부분에 의한 해결보다는 건축디자인을 통한 전체적인 해결을 다루고자 한다. 건축가는 여러 종류의 부분들을 전체적으로 통합하는 전문인이다. 전체가 부분의 합 이상 이라면 건축가는 부분에 관한 기술들 보다 본질적으로 더 많은 변화를 만들 수 있을 것이다. 자연과의 협업이란 주제를 통해 인공구축물인 건축이 자연과의 적극적인 관계를 구축함으로 인해서 현재의 전세계적인 문제에 대응하는 방법들을 찾고자 한다. 또한 자연과의 협업 및 공생을 통해 전통적 동양적 자연관을 통한 새로운 지속가능성의 논의를 촉진하고자 한다.

▶참가자격

1. 주제와 연관된 작업을 기 진행하였던 건축학과 학생 및 실무건축가건축학과 학생 및 실무건축가가 포함된 팀 또는 개인

2. sa 2009 inter design studio에 참여하였던 학생의 팀 또는 개인

3. sa 2009 summer workshop에 참여하는 학생의 팀 또는 개인

▶참가신청

신청기간  : 2009년 7월 27일(월) ~ 2009년 8월 8일(토)

신청접수 : 첨부된 신청서 작성 후, collaborationwithnature@gmail.com으로 제출

▶작품접수

접수기간 : 2009년 8월 10일(월) ~ 2009년 8월 14일(금)

접수방법 : 온라인 접수만 가능 (우편 및 방문접수  불가)

▶제출사항

1.        파워포인트로 작업한 작품파일 하나를 제출합니다. (10mb 이하)

2.        파워포인트 작업은 10장 이내의 페이지로 완성합니다.

3.        파워포인트 첫 장에는 작품제목과 지원접수 시 부여 받은 4자리 번호를 기재합니다.

4.        작품에는 영어 또는 한국어만을 사용합니다.

5.        모형은 접수 받지 않으며, 필요 시 촬영한 사진을 첨부할 수 있습니다.

climate action by architecture

eastern methodology for sustainable design 

▶introduction

the built environment is globally responsible for about 40 per cent of global co2 emissions, 40 per cent of solid waste generation and up to 40 per cent of global energy use. compared with many other industry sectors the opportunities to reduce emissions are easier to achieve and more substantial. small changes could potentially create massive waste and energy savings.

however, the most sustainable efforts are made by engineers in building industry. architects have been relatively shy on this issue. instead of relying on other profession to solve this problem, we call for architects’ response on this social issue not only by technologies but also by design.

architect is the profession who is able to integrate many different components into a whole. if the whole is more than sum of its parts architects could achieve more substantial change than part-oriented technologies.

eastern thinking toward nature is somehow different than western idea. eastern looking for symbiosis with nature while western looking for controlling nature if not too stereotyped. the workshop will demonstrate eastern architects’ reaction on the global agenda.
